Television Effects on Children

Television has some negative effects on children. One of those effects is television retards a child's reading ability. This bad condition will happen when television is introduced earlier than books to a child at very early age. As we know, television is a form of one-way communication  and according to some psychologist; this kind of communication makes a child's brain become freeze and passive. A child who has not yet attended school but often watching television during his pre-school, later will have difficulties in reading at the time he had started his school. It is because his fresh brain is conditioned to accepts information visually without through the creative thinking process by using his cognitive ability. So, the child failed making the synapses in his brain that are necessary for reading comprehension, whereas this synapses form really required when a child read books because when he does, he has to self-created whole scenario all by him self. He has to create images of who these people are, what their feelings are, what their tones of voice are, what their situation looks like.but television does not provide that. In fact, the child's imagination does not play much when he watches television and that thing will slow down a child's reading ability.
